Jenny Wiley State Park is approximately 5 miles from the hotel. The park offers picnic facilities, horseback riding, boating, camping, elk sighting tours, outdoor historical drama, and a host of other events. This Resort is known by its 1,100 acre Dewey Lake. Jenny Wiley Pioneer Festival celebrates the heritage of frontier East Kentucky with live music, food, arts & crafts, turtle races, a parade and much more. The Festival is held the 2nd week in October in downtown Prestonsburg. 606-886-2335

Hillbilly Days of Pikeville, Kentucky. A fantastic festival held each year in April that is the host to over 100,000 people. The festival is a joint effort of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the Shriners. Monies raised support the Shriners Hospital for Children in Lexington, Kentucky.
Hatfield-McCoy Marathon. The event is scheduled as part of the infamous feuding Hatfields and McCoys Reunion Festival. The unique course attracts runners from all over America.
